The Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance is an initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg that brings together companies, institutions and local authorities to actively contribute to climate protection. Members voluntarily commit to ambitious climate protection targets, such as reducing CO2 emissions and promoting sustainable processes. The alliance is an important part of Baden-Württemberg's climate protection strategy and supports the achievement of global climate targets in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
With this step, ARNOLD is underlining its long-standing commitment to climate protection and sustainability.
Since its foundation in 1898, ARNOLD UMFORMTECHNIK has pursued the goal of using innovative and environmentally friendly technologies. A milestone in this tradition is the company's own hydroelectric power plant, which has ensured a sustainable energy supply since the first years of operation. Joining the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance is now another important step towards achieving the company's ambitious climate protection goals.
Climate protection targets by 2035
As part of the climate protection agreement, ARNOLD UMFORMTECHNIK is committed to significantly reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2035 compared to the base year 2018:
- Scope 1 and 2: Reduction of at least 93%, which corresponds to a saving of 10,263 tons of CO₂e.
- Scope 3: Reduction of at least 71.4%, which corresponds to a saving of 69,339 tons of CO₂e.
Concrete measures for implementation
To achieve these goals, ARNOLD relies on a variety of measures, including
- Conversion to renewable energies and electrification of production processes
- Expanding heat recovery and improving energy efficiency in company buildings
- Use of electric steel with a higher scrap content to reduce CO2 emissions
- Optimizing supply chains and promoting environmentally friendly packaging materials
- Promoting virtual meetings to minimize business travel
